bt13 photo

History

The BT 13 was during the WWII used as a trainer for instrument flying in the V.S. Many Hollanders meet this plane in their training in the V.S

Restoration

Both machines arrived at Hoogeveen in parts and have a Pratt and Withney 985 engine with constant speed props. We've a big supply of spare parts which will be sort and registered.
The first BT13 comes in the original U.S. Navy colour scheme and total polished with the American Stars and Bars + part remarks.
The second plane will be painted in the U.S. Army colours. On this moment we don't know the details and some small texts are missing, and some part remarks are unknown. Pictures and other details are very welcome.
We want to build both aircraft at the same time. In the first place we will begin with overhauling the controls ands mechanisms. After that we will start with the frames and fuselage. If they are ready we can immediately start building in that controls and mechanisms.
Both BT13's will fly their first hours after the restoration at Hoogeveen Airport, and the fist shall be delivered to an American owner in Florida. For the second we are looking, in the first place, for a costumer in Europe.
This project will take approximately 3.5 years.

The progress

We did al lot of work already. The supply of parts is sorted and registered and the most controls are overhauled. Both fuselages are inspected and repaired. They are brushed and powder coated. As you can see in the photo gallery, some of the parts are build into the frames.
The tail section of the Vultee is repaired and painted in it's final colour scheme. Also we're started with the overhaul of the engines of the two Vultees.
