ATN was founded by Jack and Willy van Egmond in 1985. They started in a workshop at the borders of river Regge in Nijverdal, Netherlands. At the same location where Jacks grandparents has started their hauling company.

Jack van Egmond was born as the oldest son of a car dealer in Nijverdal. For this profession he obtained all the necessary licences and graduated also this as a mechanical engineer at technical high school. As a hobby he specialised himself in restoring aircraft and after self-study got the necessary licences even an inspector.

In the meantime he restored a couple of aircraft, mainly biplanes. After 5 biplanes he started the restoration of a Supermarine Spitfire MK 9 MK732, This restoration started in the spring of 1990. In two and a half year time he formed a group around him called: "Dutch Spitfire Flight" and completed the restoration by its first flight in June 1993 at Lydd airport. Jack is also a known display pilot and test pilot.

After the Spitfire was flying he started to restore 3 Bücker Jungmanns, a Klemm 35 D, a Tiger Moth, and various parts for other aircraft. On the photo you can see one of the restored Bücker Jungmanns, which is stationed at Hoogeveen Airport NL.

ATN became bigger and moved to Hoogeveen, where we changed the name into ATN Aircraft Division. Now Jac jr. and Judith van Egmond are running the company.
